Greater Shantallow Community Arts was founded in December 1999, in response
to an identified need within our community that was not being catered for by
any other organisation.  Since its inception the Committee has actively
promoted the arts through as many mediums as possible, and encouraged the
involvement of the entire community especially our young people and young
adults within our stream of arts programmes, festivals, parades and events.


Our main aim is to deliver a comprehensive community arts and festival
programme that encourages the maximum participation of as many local people
and visitors to Derry and the North West region of Northern Ireland in a
wide variety of events and programmes that primarily focus on visual art,
music and drama.

Greater Shantallow Community Arts in all our activities is committed to
working with local people to address exclusion, marginalisation and poverty,
in essence, empowering our young local people to address their individual
and community needs.
