This quote outlines the main objective, and principle role of Greater Shantallow Community Arts (GSCA) as an organisation. We, as an organisation, seek to engage, positively and creatively, with society, by means of the arts. We seek to provide pathways to employment within the creative industries, and to provide an outlet and a forum for creative artistic expression for local people and produce high quality arts projects that will serve to positively re-brand the Greater Shantallow area and engender a sense of pride. In essence to put the Arts at the heart of our community!

Greater Shantallow Community Arts believes in people, and putting people first. The Arts in all its forms, mediums and opportunities is the most wonderful vehicle to allow people to be themselves. To consider the wonders of their own imagination, to put into practice all those hidden aspirations of expression and creativity unique to each and every individual. GSCA exists to help people release that spirit and realise the potential that the Arts can play in all of our lives.
